Brick? More like a strobe light

After recently adding some music, disconnecting and booting into Rockbox, I can no longer go back into the original firmware.  Whether I hold down left or plug in the USB, my Sansa begins to boot, flashes white, then begins to boot again (from the screen starting "Rockbox bootloader".  The last line on the screen before it flash is "Disabling database rebuild".

Help!  As it is, I can neither remove Rockbox nor access the memory to change music.

What about recovery mode?

Didn't work with firmware 1.3, but I just tried again with 1.2 and it did work.  Now, should I go in and delete all the rockbox files if I want to try a fresh install?

You shouldn't need to, but you can if you'd like.
