iAudio X5 Question
« on: August 14, 2008, 11:40:56 AM »
Okay well there are X5L's (30 GB) on sale. If I bought one, then swapped the bigger battery out for a smaller one, and put in a dual platter drive, like a 60 or 80 GB, will that work?

Yes, it seems....

Actually, the "bigger" battery is apparently just two small ones.

IIRC, there are 2 separate batteries in the x5L, with the smaller one (this one is present in all models) soldered onto the circuit board and the larger one (that is present only in the L models) easily disconnectable and right next to the hard drive. The larger one is the one that you should take out.
