Record Button

(1/1)

Crooker:
I've searched the forum for this answer but can't seem to find any... so I apologize if it's answered somewhere.

I've just installed Rockbox on my Sansa e270 and am now discovering it's power (vs. the factory firmware).

One of the problems I have with the design of the device is the record button.  I'm always hitting it.  Is there a way to disable it through the software (besides just using the "on hold")?  I've read that it CAN be done.  I just haven't found the setting.

Any help is appreciated.

MarcGuay:
Disabling it would require creating your own custom build from the source code.

Chronon:
You can also flip the screen upside down in LCD settings.  This allows you to use the Sansa upside down.  This may help quite a lot since, if you're right-handed, the offending button will now be far from any fingertips.  You will still retain the functionality of the button but you may find that you are much less likely to accidentally push it.

edit: I find this configuration much more comfortable for my hand too.

There is no setting. You can disable it through software -- if you change the software, which would mean creating your own build.
