whatever man, I was just adding my 2 cents, unless you felt insulted on how i was wondering why there was a black screen, it wouldn't turn on, no sounds, no loading/booting sounds, virtual dead, then when hard resetted it started up but with no rockbox

You didn't respond to my question.  What happens if you reset the iPod again using the correct key combination?

The bootloader will boot Apple's firmware if you hold the Menu button during the boot sequence.  This is a probable explanation for why you found yourself in the Apple firmware.

I was wondering if i'm use to playlists like itunes and i rarely put fullalbums so that renders database pointless should i just use 'rockbox's playlist'?

also if i don't select save current playlist why does it still stay in ipods memory of what the list is?upon that when i select create playlist it absorbed EVERYTHING from sound clips from games to video files and song files...whats with that option?

What does an absence of full albums have to do with the usefulness of the database?  Playlists can be a good way to manage your music, but this kind of thing is all user choice.  Rockbox gives a number of ways to access and manage your music.  The details of how you do it are up to you.

I have no idea what you did to create the playlist, so there's no way I can really comment about that.

You seem to have a lot of untagged audio clips on your player.  I'm not sure about why it would take a long time when you try to view the untagged files.

i click on create playlist on itunes and i make multiple playlists, thats how i create them

i just want it to appear on my ipod when i choose music

the reason for this is i can avoid replacing the songs with dragn drop method, the songs are already on there using itunes, so to save time i just want them to appear, and by using a playlist method

otherwise i have to find out what i put in it how they're arrange then recopy them over in folders. If i can put over a playlist (i.e m3u) it will appear on rockbox, and in the way i sorted them out

do you know why they don't appear on the ipod playlist to m3u scans when i use the program?

And iTunes playlists are not M3Us.

ok let me start again

* i have songs that i put on from itunes
* to save my time i'm not gonna retransfer them over to the music device (eg copy and paste)
* so the quickest way is the make rockbox remember my itunes playlist
* i heard a way to do that is, is to convert itunes playlist to m3u and then rockbox can tead it

*now i heard some admin/mod/developer (can't remember who) say there are 3rd party software to do this, i got my hands on a program, it is called "iTunesExportUI.exe" i didn't mention the program name because i thought it was irrelevant since eitherways i'm still trying to convert ipod playlists to m3us

* my ipod displays playlists and i want those displayed on my rockbox, i'm don't know enough to continue the next step, do i click on some save option on itunes so its saves everything into a single xml then convert it to a m3u??

I'm sorry I thought you meant iTunes playlists were M3Us. Your general sentence structure can make it quite difficult to follow what you're saying at times. It would really help if you used periods where they belong instead of a long string of commas. It makes it very difficult to distinguish when you're beginning a new thought, or when I'm supposed to associate it with the previous part of the "sentence."

Any software to convert iTunes playlist to M3Us is unofficial, and any problems you're having with it should be addressed to the author (as these forums are for questions specifically about Rockbox, and while you're using Rockbox with the M3Us later, it's very similar to how we don't provide a forum for discussion on how to rip CDs even though you use the output of that in Rockbox).

Retransferring your music is also irrelevant to whether you can use your previously created playlists.  Rockbox can still play all of the DRM-free music on your iPod.  You can argue that you find using your iTunes playlists useful, but this in no way suggests that you need to retransfer your files in order for Rockbox to use them.

As Llorean said, the particular process of converting to standard .m3u playlists should be taken up with the author of a tool that does this.  I have seen several such tools in a casual Google search in the past.

i'm aware that rockbox can detect the music already on the ipod even if they have been through itunes (i.e security) however it can' t detect the original ipod playlist

the playlist is stored on the ipod and i can't export it, was just wanting some help which i'd thought i'd ask irregardless of it being a rockbox forum

i mean if it can't read the original playlist then YES it would virtually be like me copying music over again, otherwise i'd be a giant mess

in anycase you don't need to reply because i'm either going to go back to original apple firmware OR i'll download the songs off the ipod and place them in folders for rockbox to access

Not true.  You could convert the original playlist to m3u, as repeatedly discussed in this thread.
