Neat! Major amateur astronomer here.

Will this eventually be packaged with the Sansa c200 build of RockBox?

(I can install something like RockBox in 5 minutes, but compiling a new build would take me years. :) )

No it wouldn't - the instructions for putting together a build environment and compiling rockbox are comprehensive and simple. It might take you at most a week if you're a REALLY slow learner. I'd expect most people to manage it in a day.

Hello,

I'm very interested in this Moon-Calculation tool and also took a look at John Walker's algorithm.
Unfortunately I'm not able to patch te current 3.4 release.
Would anybody be so kind to prepare a current patchfile or may explain me how to get it working?
Thanks!

Regards from Germany, Mark

You could leave a note on the tracker page notifying anyone following that task that it needs to be re-synched.  If  you would like help with compiling then you can post a topic in the "Getting Started" forum.

Hello and thanks,

ok I was able to patch and compile it allright.
My problem was, that the patch file has to be rum from the rockbox-directory, not from the plugins.
Furthermore the patch-command has to be run with -p0 parameter.
I compiled it for Sansa e200 V1 simulator an can run the plugin, and it calculates the moonphase approximately correct, but there is no picture showing so far...
Will post this on the tracker.
Complining for Hardware target was not successful so far, will investigate this tonight.

Regards, Mark

cheers,

I.
