Image-based main menu?
« on: August 14, 2008, 07:40:34 PM »
I'm wondering if it's possible to make a image-based main menu, with full WPS tags support. This would set a new level in theme making. I know the main purpose of Rockbox is usability, but hey -- it isn't too bad to have a good-looking main menu just like the WPS screen :)

there has been discussion about making it possible to use icon grids for the lists, but I dont think anyone has started it... its not really likely to go full WPS-like support though

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

I see... It would be very nice to do a text-less menu with a custom looking, just using images.

That WPS tag support that I mean is for having some information of the currently playing music in the main menu (track title and playback status, for instance).

The c200's way of doing it is easier to do (it only changes the images, rather that scrolling (i.e., animating) them).

Fine for a such a small screen, but a huge waste of real estate for anything much larger.
