h340 and CF
« on: August 11, 2008, 05:36:01 PM »
Bonjour ;o)
I use my h340 with a a-data 32 gb speedy cf , using the very last build (r18247) and I still have this annoying issue: sometimes my player freeze (mostly when I skip from a track to another), sometimes this can happen 5 times during an hour period, and I have to reset my player. And (as yesterday between marseille and paris in the train ;o) the h340 refuse to boot and I had a "ata-11 error" (and a "found no partition" frightening message).
This evening I had to put the CF card in my PC and replace the ".rockbox" folder to have my player booting as usuaL.
I had the same problem with other card before...
Anyone have an idea about the problem?
Can it be a bootloader version issue?

Thanks in advance for your help ;o)

I have a h320 and I had it CF modded about a month ago without any problems.

I used an A-DATA 32GB cf card and adapter just as you have.  The only difference is that I had first updated the bootloader (I compile my own builds and I had also compiled a bootloader based on r17647)

Been using it extensively and there have been absoutely no problems with freezing.  That said, I'm still using r17647 build (compiled this myself with some custom patches)

I think you might need to update your bootloader if it's not already done.

check here for the h300.zip bootloader that allows the CF mod.

Salut,

I'm using a newer bootloader and the last build and it seems to work fine for 2 weeks know, so I think this was the solution: no more freeze and hard reset.
Thank you ;o)
