What happened to badges?

I remember there was a topic about receiving Rockbox badges, but now that topic is gone and I found no useful information about badges from the forum search and the website search. So what's the deal? I'd like to apply for the artist badge.

I got rid of my post on them describing them. I'll be bringing it back eventually, but I want to change what some of the badges mean, and how to get them and so I took it down in preparation for that. Don't expect it to necessarily come back soon yet, there are plenty of things I need to do first.
