volume steps and min - max range
« on: October 22, 2008, 09:14:22 PM »
hey guys

a long time ago... i recall that the volume went from 0 (off) to 100...

rather than today's +6 to -57 (off)

I understand why this is, however would it be possible to introduce an option where the user can set the interval between max and off...

ie 0 (off) to uservalue (max)

I listen to rockbox at night when there isn't too much ambient noise and find on some of my tracks -56 is still too loud....

the step between -56 and -57 (off) appears to be a relatively large jump.

It would be great to introduce a second volume option where there are many more steps and much finer control over the volume output....

what do you guys think ?

Use a precut in the EQ and you can reduce the volume however much you like.

The volume steps themselves are hardware dependent.
