Rock Box running ipod Linux

A quick question can you run ipod linux in rockbox just as you would the rockbox.ipod from directory? Is this idea feasible?

Oh well... i would have imagined it was similar to running "loadlin.exe <kernelimage.i>" on old win/dos machines ??? ;D
