To rockbox devs - THANKS!!!

That box only looks for a flyspray id, which is a number. For a fulltext search on the tracker just open an arbitrary search (like http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/index.php?do=index&project=1&openedfrom=-1+week) and then use the search box (the tracker front page is currently broken so you need to use a bit trickery to find the search).

--- End quote ---
No, I said each band of the EQ you enable will consume more CPU cycles.
--- Quote from: soap on August 07, 2008, 10:04:24 PM ---It doesn't matter if you have a "huge" bass boost or a tiny one. Every band of the EQ you use will consume CPU cycles (and thus battery) if the gain is not 0.

I was careful in my initial choice of words, but I think I might need to be explicit here, I am talking about the EQ, not the separate bass/treble controls. On the iPod 5G they should consume no additional battery.
ThaCrip:
@ soap ... so in other words since i never directly messed with the EQ itself and i only touched the bass and treble settings, my batt life is pretty much same as if it never touched them then? ;)
so basically if my bass and treble where at the default of zero or at 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 etc etc it's still using the same amount of battery, right?

On the Sansa, they should consume some, but not much, IIUC. They are simpler filters than used in the EQ.

I did a battery benchmark with EQ disabled (about 8-9 hours, which sucks for an ipod nano 1g) and right now my player is performing another one with EQ enabled and all 5 bands set to non-zero.... so hopefully that can help.
/* edit */
hey, speaking of batteries, the newer ipod nano's have a 24 hour battery right? Do you think the battery of such a unit would fit (and would work) in the 1g? then i'd have a 24hour battery instead of a 14hour one :D
