The EQ will impact battery life. How much? I can't say. I do not believe it has been quantitatively tested.It doesn't matter if you have a "huge" bass boost or a tiny one. Every band of the EQ you use will consume CPU cycles (and thus battery) if the gain is not 0.Also note that some codecs use less CPU to decode than others, so using the EQ while playing FLAC might have less of a detrimental effect on battery life than using the EQ while playing mp3.

wait a sec... so your saying when i adjust my bass and treble settings up from the default of ZERO to level 8 (on each of bass/treble) it burns more and more CPU cycles each level i raise it?
