When you build ffmpeg, you get ffplay as well, and you can test with it or you can simply have ffmpeg convert it to a .wav then play the .wav.

The sound is bogus glitch with FFplay as well (it glitches at the same places than in Rockbox), but not in Winamp.

Llorean:
Well, we use ffmpeg code in Rockbox, so it's a problem with the codec we got the code from. You should file a bug report with them as well, as they're more familiar with the original code and more likely to be able to fix it (a fix which we can then use).
