How'd I set every album tag in the DB to the same one?
« on: August 06, 2008, 04:26:40 PM »
Now then, let's see if THIS is the right place for this:

Subject says it all, after spending 3 hours thinking that it was Rockbox, -  the only album in the DB IN THE PLAYER  was "Misc Rock and Roll" I finally check some of the songs and every one of them had the same album tag. They were fine when I added them to the Sansa e280.

All was fine when I went out to mow the lawn and do some gardening, and when I went to find a song, via it's album, I only had the one album in the database.

Can you phrase that any more clearly?  I'm having a bit of trouble following exactly the sequence of events here.

Are you saying that somehow the tags on your songs got messed up?  (This could be verified by checking them with a tag editor on your computer.)  If that's the case then this probably doesn't have anything to do with Rockbox as there's no tag writing functionality in Rockbox at present.

I'm afraid you may have to do better than that.  I'd like to help as well but I can't understand what you're trying to say.

Correct. All was well and then as I went to pick another album, I only HAD one. The album tag - not the file name - are all the same.

I've ended up reformatting and re-adding the files.

I didn't think so, but that is what happened.

Do you add the files to your player via MTP mode ?
