No Line-In Gain Control w/ Griffin iTalk on 5G iPod Video
(1/1)

hi all, been using rockbox for a few weeks now very happy with such a flexible alternative
i have been using the Griffin iTalk to record 16/44 WAV via it's stereo line-in (not the iPod's headphone out)
however, though I can adjust the input gain when using the Apple firmware, Rockbox's Recording screen's gain controls seem to have no effect on incoming signal. as a result, i am only able to make very low gain recordings with tons of noise floor garbage.
again, in the apple OS, i am able to access the iTalk's input gain settings (hi, lo, auto - ugh!) and am able to make clean recordings.
any insight on this? am i doing something wrong?
as a sidenote, Rockbox seems unable to return to audio playback after recording
edit: i am using rockbox r18200-080806

if the gain control is inside the accessory, I have bad news for you: we do not really support accessories that require any action from within the ipod. Maybe LinusN can help, he's been looking at the accessory protocol iirc
