Sansa e250 connection

I just downloaded and installed (official build) Rockbox.  The first few times I connected my Sansa to my computer it loaded the original Sansa build to charge and transfer files.  Just now I am unable to connect to transfer files.

I am in MSC usb mode.
I am turning the player off completely and plugging in the usb cable to the player and it is loading Rockbox.
My player is a Sansa e250.
I have also held down the |<< button while turning on, the original Sansa program loads, and it will charge, but I cannot transfer any files.
I am running Windows XP service pack 3.
There are no error messages anywhere.
I am not using a SD card.

When I plug it in, either/any way Windows does not detect any device or external hard drive.
I have tried most of the solutions here on the forum and on the Rockbox page, with the exception of the recovery (do not want to do that yet).

Any help will be appreciated!

- Try the USB ports in the back (no hubs)
- Try a different cable
- Try rebooting the PC and plugging it in again

There's no reason to use recovery mode, you've simply encountered a common connection problem.

It is now working.  I plugged it directly into the computer and it is working now.
I feel stupid  :( .

So sorry about the trouble.
