E280 Rhapsody blue ring while attempting manufacturer mode
(1/1)
jackwarr:
Help! I've installed Rockbox on about eight Sansa E2 players with no trouble whatsoever. Today I am trying to install Rockbox on a Rhapsody E280 model using these instructions http://(http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SansaE200RInstallation). I trouble appears to be with manufacturer mode. I moved the HOLD switch to on and held the SELECT button while plugging in the USB cable (I did not turn the player on before this step). All I get is the blue ring and a blank screen. Nothing else. I tried step five in the instructions above, but don't see any listing for USB mass storage.
Any suggestions? This is a beautiful player and worked fine before I tried this. I'd hate to think I've killed it.
Llorean:
Black screen with blue ring IS the manufacturer mode. Windows doesn't ask for drivers when attached like this?
jackwarr:
No, it is not asking for drivers. I also tried step five in the install directions, but I see no reference to a mass storage device.
I guess the real question here is, how do I get it out of mantufacturer mode since it's not being recognized by either of my computers?
