10 second backup (rewind) feature after resuming podcast playback

(1/2) > >>

omegamormegil:
I very frequently use my sansa to listen to various podcasts.  When I resume playback after having paused or powered off the mp3 player, I always need to rewind the track a bit to get the context for what is being talked about, or else I have no idea what is going on.

I'd really like to see a feature where I could tell Rockbox to automatically rewind 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 seconds whenever I resume listening to a track.  Does this functionality already exist?  I don't think I've ever heard of it.

Thanks for any help.

AlexP:
It exists for the pause/resume on headphone remove/insert, if your player's hardware allows headphone detection.  If you want to add it for general resume, I would guess that this might be a place to start looking.

I would like to support this request. Really nice feature - why only for headphones? Using in the car it takes time for radio and FM transmitter to power-up lock. Please make delay programmable - various system may rerquire different delay.

Should we change subject from backup to rewind?

I think that would be good (you don't backup anything, do you? ;) ). That proposal also had already been discussed (IIRC that was during devcon if my memory serves me right).

The resume on headphone insertion is already selectable.
