Sponsoring iPod 5G Theme Fixes

I'm not sure if this is allowed on the forums, but I'm willing to pay someone via Paypal or Alertpay to fix up the following iPod 5th generation themes to work with the current build:

The box ones are totally possible. Slant isn't gonna happen unless senab does it himself, or changes the license. I remember him saying something about how the design tied in with a uni project or his website or something and so he wasn't going to open it up... back then, anyway. At least, that's what I remember.

ryran, I recall something to that effect too.  However, it appears that a subsequent version (the e200 port of Slant) has been licensed under a .  So it's possible he would open up the 5g version too (or possibly intended to already).  retrac1324, you could try to contact senab and see if he will release that theme under an open license.  Alternatively, he might update the theme without licensing it, or you could fix it for yourself (but you couldn't share it) if there's no luck with those options.

That doesn't mean "open up" - the ND in that means "no derivative works".  i.e. "You may not alter, transform, or build upon this work.":

Well since Slant is questionable, I guess I'm look for someone willing to do the box themes. The offer is still open for any noble person willing to update the themes.

If only someone would upload the photoshop sources (or whatever graphics program was used to create these), I would've incorporated the non-AA versions. Now, i only bothered with the AA versions.

It appears to me only frostbox is clearly licensed.  How did you determine the license for the others?

This is getting totally out of hand.  There is no license in the WPS's zip file - there is no license implied on the wiki - you can not distribute a modification of it.  It sucks, but it is the law.

Can't we just put up some guidelines for submitting wps to the wiki? Like a disclaimer that you have to agree to anytime you upload something to the wiki. E.g. "by uploading you allow other users to use and modify your work". i think that would save us a lot of trouble, when authors can't be reached (like phk).

The new theme support shall require that a theme needs a clear licence to be uploaded, at which point I imagine the wiki gallery will be discontinued.

That is fine, I am going to start a general cleanup of the wiki galleries in a few hours, but that still won't pertain to the older ones.

The license of Frostbox is:

and all the other "box" themes are color edits of FrostBox made by other people. Since the license requires "share alike", that means that all the box themes have the same license (which allows remixing).

I believe if you look at the wiki history that said license was placed on Frostbox after the derivative works were made.
I might be remembering this wrong - but it is not so cut and dry.

That still means you can derive (update it so it works) FrostBox original, then redo the color edits into new themes with the same license right?

If my memory is correct regarding the theme creation timeline it means the colour derivatives works do NOT inherit the CC-BY-SA, but would, in fact, be illegitimate.

I got all four box themes updated for the latest build, but I don't know if I can post them due to all the licensing terms.
