Frozen Ipod nano 2gig (first gen)
« on: July 29, 2008, 07:50:34 PM »
been using rockbox on it for a while, but a couple of nights ago i fell asleep with it on, and im guessing the battery went dead, but isnt dead enough. when i hit menu if its off (turns off after a lil while) it will come up with the apple icon, then the rockbox loader then the rockbox menu but the scroll wheel wont move the curser, and the select button wont work, hard resetting DOES work, however it will not go into disk mode or disk check, ive tryed several times and no it will not work. also plugging it into my PC will not work, and even using the wall charger (its a car charger in an adapter) will not work  please help as i love my ipod.

try to boot into original firmware (turn on ipod and imediately engage hold switch) and tell us if this behavour is also accuring then. you can then try to let itunes restore your ipod and then reinstall rockbox

well, it will boot into it, but the click wheel wont make the menu move, the ipod will plug in and respond now to the pc, but the click wheel still wont work, it will still make it reboot so its not busted...is it?

If you're seeing the same phenomenology in both Rockbox and the Apple firmware this suggests that you are seeing the effects of a hardware issue.  Maybe the cable has come loose?
