Ihp-120 replacing the optical in
« on: July 28, 2008, 04:45:28 PM »
Hi all, has anyone tried (or does anyone know of someone trying to) replace the optical in on the 120 w/ a coax dongal?

I'd love to rid myself of another piece of gear (converter) when recording and wonder if the optical-in connector can be reomved and possibly add wires to it's board connection that would allow a coax digital sig to pass.

I need to further dig into what the optical in connector does, and if there is associated circuitry that is required once it goes from optical to electrical....or does this thig do all the conversion and an addition of wires is all required.

thanks for being such a great source of wealth.
