Dance Dance Revolution like game

I was thinking if it was posible to make a game like dance dance revolution, base in the song playing, i mean without need of other files, just the music file playing, y think that could be like the osciloscope or vu mether demo plugin , generating the arrows from the soundwave, diferent difficulty levels whit  a scoreboard and... 
That is my idea,maybe someone else had this idea o can help me,maybe i can help, i've been watching the vumeter source code, just that,but i don't know how to compile a modified plugin to test it.i downloaded the simulator (ipod nano), i'm under windows, thanks /sorry for my bad english/  i like a lot rockbox, thanks to all the people involved.
