Rockbox dont runs on my H340 - Help !!!

(1/2) > >>

Oli:
Hello everyone,

a few days ago I bought a Iriver. My second MP3-Player ever.
A great machine. But after installing Rockbox with the automatically installing software it didn't work.

I loaded down the original software as I was instructed by the program. That was the 1.29 version - until then the version 1.25 were running.

Since installing Rockbox I get the information that the software, which starts is Iriver 1.29, which means that there is a change. But unfortunally not that change I wanted. Turning off and on and off and on - allways iriver.

What did I do wrong?

Yes I checked that in the  .rockbox folder is the rockbox.iriver file as to read from bigbambi a few topics earlier. Sorry, but I didnt get what the problem was in that case and how it could be solved.

Is it possible that my harddisk is too full? I have a rest space of 595 MB - should be enought I think.

Please if there is a hero willing helping me I would be really thankful.

Greetings,

Oli

AlexP:
So you downloaded v1.29 of the iriver firmware, and I assume that rbutil patched it for you - did you then flash the patched file to the H300?

See this section of the manual:

http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-h300/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-110002.3.2

Under installing the bootloader, and try that.

Oli:
As you surely assumed - It works.
Thank you very much and sorry that I didn't read that by myself.

AlexP:
No problem - you shouldn't have to to be honest - it should either tell you you need to do the flashing under the automatic installation section of the manual, or rbutil should tell you (I'm assuming it doesn't - I haven't tried, so sorry to the rbutil people if it does :)).

Anyway, I'm glad you got it working.

Domonoky:

a note from a rbutil person:

yes it does tell you what you have to do to finish the bootloader installation.

But you can easily oversee it, because its just outputs in the Logger window.
Especially with the full and small Install Options it juts scrolls through, so its easy to miss...
maybe we should improve it :-)
