Has anyone tried putting CF into a h10 (20 GB)?
akadewboy:
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried putting an iFlash ZIF CF Adapter into their h10 (20 GB) player?
I'm planning on getting a new player and I want one that can use CF. The H3x0 is hard to find, so I was hopping that the H10 could use CF since it's easier to find.
LambdaCalculus:
No, that adapter doesn't look like the right one you'll need.
The H10 20GB uses a 1.8" hard drive with a 44-pin connector, and is also horizontally aligned. Turns out that DealExtreme carries just the part you need:

Huh? Are you sure?
The IriverH10HardwareComponents wiki lists it as having a Hitachi HTC426020G7CE00:

The HTC426020G7CE00 datasheet lists it has having a ZIF connection:

HardDriveReplacment wiki says it has a ZIF 40:

Also the CFModGuide wiki says it's a candidate for the ZIF adapter:

I'm confused.
karashata:
The iriver H10 20GB uses a ZIF-40 connector. You will need the ZIF-CF adapter.

I've been working on this for about a week now. I'm using an Addonics ADZIFCF ZIF to CF adapter, and a SanDisk Extreme III 16GB CF card. I have not been successful in getting past the "System Files Missing..." screen on start up. I have even checked out the code for Rockbox via SVN with the VMWare Player, and built current copies of the rockbox.zip and H10_20GC.mi4 files...still no luck. I'm wondering if maybe it is the SanDisk CF card I'm using that is the problem?
