unwanted conversion from ogg to mp3
« on: July 21, 2008, 05:42:17 PM »
I have recently bought sansa e280 and installed rockbox version r18085-080717. I ripped quite several CDs to ogg format - the music files on my disk have ogg extension. I copied these ogg files using rhytmbox to the player. I was really surprised to discover that the same files have mp3 extensions on my sansa player!

I would like to know who is doing the conversion - rythmbox or sansa firmware? Can I prevent it from happening?

This has nothing to do with rockbox, but since the Sansa can't decode Ogg without rockbox, it's firmware certainly isn't doing it.

You should probably ask the rythmbox people about it.
