Tagnavi question
« on: July 21, 2008, 05:37:06 PM »
So i have a simple question (which i think could only be solved by tagnavi maybe)

I would like to browse my files in the directory structure (like browsing folders) but files in folders should not be shown as filenames. Instead i would like to see the track title metadata. Is this possible ?

yes, if your files have the proper tags, you can display those tags when browsing. The default tagnavi file has some basic browsing (by artists, genre, etc).

Note, it does not browse by folders, but brose by ID3 tags.

Look for DataBase in the wiki....

I know that... but thats not exactly what i wanted... I just wanted to browse like usual (directory mode) and only if mp3 files are found a display of metadata-title.

There are many programs (I use Mp3Tag) which will name your files according to the ID3 tags, or vice-versa.  Although perhaps you'd rather only see them by track title and still have them named with the track number and artist, in which case, I think playing with the tagnavi is your best option.
