sudo is the linux equivalent of running as an administrator.  You type "sudo [command]" and its like you logged out and back in as the admin in windows.  Are you running linux?

s0ccer4liffe:
ohhh i kinda get it now but i have no clue as to what you mean by running linux. im not good with all the technical talk all i know is that i downloaded the current build from rockbox and extracted the files onto the ipod and then i when i tried to run the ipodpatcher it just said no ipods found...ive been looking all through the forums for days but i just cannot figure it out

bluebrother:
I'd really suggest you using Rockbox Utility (which is the preferred install method anyway), and in case you have trouble go to About / System Info and paste the output of that dialog here (you can copy and paste from that window).

Linux is an Operating System, like Windows XP or Mac OS X.  sudo is a program for Linux (and other OSes).  The windows equivalent of "sudo ./ipodpatcher" would be something like "runas /user:administrator ipodpatcher.exe"
