computer not opening ipod ???

lately i cannot get my computer to read or open my apple ipod 5g sometimes the computer looks for rockbox driver and at others just an empty folder & only sometimes after restarting the ipod again & again I have luck & can do what I need
Please any help??? ???  :'( ???

You need to use the retail firmware for USB.
