tags and now-playing - info now missing
(1/1)
draeath:
I just did a clean reinstall of rockbox, and now nearly every bit of information that was on my now-playing screen is gone. Flac files report no-id3, mp3 files show they HAVE ID3 but don't display anything extra, and ogg also shows no-id3. However, the database seems to be working fine.
This is with rockbox r18085-080717 on a Sansa e200r (not the v2).
Is something possibly broken with the revision i've got loaded, or is there some magical setting I need to twiddle that I just don't remember and/or didn't exist a few months ago?
I've linked (too big to attach) a crappy picture of the screen, and labelled the various parts that are displayed. I used to have a lot more info (next in playlist, more codec info, etc). I've tried using the 'plain text' theme that displayed a whole BUNCH of info previously, and it displays only the exact same info as below.
Legend:
A: Peak meters
B: Playback Progress
C: Playlist position/total
D: Track time / Track Length
E: Codec info (currently displays "824 kBit avg (no id3)" - this is a flac file with vorbis tags)
F: Track number, title, artist, album (hmm, if theres no id3, how do we know this?)
G: Batter, volume, repeat, shuffle, time, etc
safetydan:
The theme you were using before doesn't work with the newest builds of Rockbox. The screen you're seeing is the default fallback theme if the one you chose doesn't work. Try another theme or fix the one you were using to use the new syntax.

Thanks! That is good to know...
Well, I can put up with having less info on the screen, I don't REALLY need to know all that junk. Cabbie seems to be working just fine.
On that note... is there a cabbie version that has a numerical volume meter rather than the graphical bar? (i'm a freak, and like to measure my gain in +/- dB)

This sounds like a great way to introduce yourself to the CustomWPS wiki page and make a small change to the wps file! ;)
draeath:
I'll have to take a stab at that. Every time I look at a WPS I get woozy. That certainly looks like some STRANGE syntax.
