Can't install--failed to add bootloader

Got the problem with the bootloader to.
I have tried just install rockbox, without bootloader, and that works. I just cant install the bootloader.

Sorry i'm that late to answer.. it is 5.5 gen.

Are you absolutely sure it's not an iPod Classic?

soap:
Smooth and flat plastic front in either gloss white or gloss black with a stainless steel back = 5th or 5.5th gen.
Anodized aluminum all around = 6th gen, the "Classic".
