Please Help!! iPod is not even recognized on computer anymore!!!
(1/1)
canton:
Hello, recently my younger sister installed the rockbox software into her iPod Video 60GB. She did not like it and attempted to remove it. Now, the iPod is not even recognized by the computer when it is plugged in and the screen reads the following message:
Rockbox boot loader
Version: 2.0
IPOD version: 0xFFFFFFFF
TOSHIBA: MK6008GAH
Partition 1: 0x0B 57121 MB
Loading Rockbox...
Error!
Can't load rockbox. ipod:
File not found
Hold MENU+SELECT to reboot
then SELECT+PLAY for disk mode
---
I have tried both rebooting the ipod as well as the select+play as advised on the screen however that message remained and now the drive is not even displayed on my computer. Please, please, please help!
Thank you so much!
Llorean:
Hold Select+Menu. As soon as the screen clears, immediately hold Select+Play. Then follow the uninstall instructions in the manual to properly uninstall (you never removed the bootloader).

I am trying to uninstall the Rockbox right now but on the iPod patcher it reads:
[INFO] Scanning device
[ERR] no iPods found. aborting.

You're probably not in disk mode. Read Llorean's post again.
EDIT: FYI before your edit it sounded like you had succeeded in what you wanted to do. If you haven't tried what was suggested yet, you should probably indicate that.
EDIT: You may also need to run ipodpatcher as an adminstrator.
