Archos Recorder - Battery empty - too early? (SOLVED)

Not jet. I'm not happy changeing them. You know the Archos mechanics? ;-)

Now I have changed the batteries to newer one's with only 1600mAh capacity. They work fine for more than 5 hours now and Info says still 3+ hours left.
Seems that pixelma is right saying hi-cap cells tend to die relatively early :-(

I think the internal resistance of the cells is increased due to my obsrevation that the voltage is droping fast when HD is active and rising quickly to almost full when the HD stops.

It looks that I have to invest in new cells - no SW issue.

Case closed :-)

Maybe you could look into the "new generation" cells (see wikipedia entry). They don't have such a very high capacity but still good enough and don't suffer from this high self-discharge which is why they are sold pre-charged. The only reason why I didn't want to recommend these is that I have no personal experience with them yet and just know of one person using this kind of cells successfully in an Archos Recorder and different people who use them in their camera.
