Display track time/position on c250?
(1/1)
mjdamico:
Hi,
This seems like it should be obvious, but I can't find the answer anywhere. So here goes... I'm using a Sansa c250. On the Now Playing screen, is there any way to display the time of the currently-playing track position? I've got long 3+ hour tracks I'm listening to, and seeking specific places in the tracks is tricky without being able to see the time.
Thanks for any help!

Strife89:
You can edit the WPS file with a text editor. It's /.rockbox/wps/cabbiev2.wps
I am a c250 user as well, so hey. ;D
For your reference, here are two Wiki pages related to WPS editing.

EDIT2: Okay, I edited the WPS so that the time elapsed shows up on the fourth line for five seconds; then the "Next Track" display shows up for four; and it repeats.
Rename the file from editedcabbiev2.txt to editedcabbiev2.wps . Copy it to /.rockbox/wps on your DAP. To be on the safe side, make a copy of the cabbiev2 folder in there and rename the copy to editedcabbiev2.
Hope this helps you. :)

Awesome. Exactly what I needed. Thanks! :)

I messed with it a little bit. It now shows elapsed time on the left, total time in the middle, and time remaining on the right. It'll show this for 5 seconds (like before) before switching to "Next Track", which now stays for a second longer (5 seconds).
I might submit it to the WPS Gallery, because I think a lot of c200 users would like this if they knew about it. Since the modification is small, I won't even stick in my name. This is still Marc Guay's (and "Zinc Alloy"'s) work, ultimately. :)
Object now if anyone deems the submission wrong.
EDIT: D'oh! I never did attach the file. :-[
