Problem with iPod skipping

<< < (4/4)

Llorean:
Not really. The anti-skip buffer helps to ensure that if the player is shaken or otherwise disturbed causing an inability to provide more data, a sufficient amount is kept "in reserve". It really won't help if the CPU simply isn't fast enough to play.

saratoga:
The WMA IMDCT improvements I've been working on (see FS#9160) should be applicable to AAC eventually, which will hopefully bring its speed at least up to par with MP3.

TexasRockbox:
Would using the hardware EQ help reduce processor load? And, if so, maybe then the Crossfade could be used.

If you mean "using the hardware EQ instead of the software EQ," then yes.

Note that there is no longer any separate feature called "hardware EQ," but the "bass" and "treble" settings now control what was previously referred to as the "hardware EQ."
