How to make the menus stay on for a little longer
« on: July 05, 2008, 01:32:42 PM »
First I read the manual and couldn't find the answer to my question. It might be that I looked at the wrong place but I researched all about Backlight, Backlight (While Plugged In), Backlight on Hold, Caption Backlight, etc and nothing.

My question is can I set a variable somewhere to make the menus stay on for a little longer? Since I'm a new user I'm not very familiarized with the menus and it still takes me some time to find the options I am looking for.

Why not set the backlight to stay on for a little longer?

I did that and didn't notice any change other than the light around the select wheel staying longer. I'll try again and see if it alters the whole "time" thing.

Did you change Backlight or Wheel Light Timeout?

I changed Backlight. At first it did not seem to work but now it is working. Do you have to power off for it to kick in?

Nope, it takes effect immediately.  Scroll up to "Off" for a demo.  :)

I didn't find any "Off" option, but it is working well now. Thanks.
