Question about manual phrasing
« on: July 04, 2008, 11:25:58 PM »
Could someone please explain to me what this sentence from the manual means "The player can be powered over USB without connecting to your computer by holding Select while plugging in. This allows you to continue using the player normally."

How can you power the player if you are not connected to the computer? Where will it get its power from?

It means that it won't make a USB connection to the computer, which would allow you to transfer files, but it will draw power to the unit.

i.e. the cable is still *physically* connected, but the computer won't mount your device as a drive.
