"Mic" Interupted Playback

I find myself always having to stop playback on my iriver H10 when people come to me with a question, etc., and I was thinking that, if possible, some type of "interupt" if a signal from the mic rose above a certain threshold to pause playback would be nice.
I am thinking that most likely some of the circuitry needed for this maybe also required for playback functions so this couldn't work, but I thought I'd post it as an idea.
If this isn't possible, please excuse my ignorance and delete this post if desired.
