Things not going well for me and my player E270
« on: July 04, 2008, 04:13:11 AM »
I am totally out of my element and should never have ventured to rockbox since its too over my head. So with that being said: I spent over 2 hours downloading rockbox and reading what I could to explain to me what to do.  After I finally got it downloaded I ran into some problems getting to work and panicked and tried to unistall rockbox. It didnt work

So I am really upset with myself and I just want to go back to the factory resets. I can get it to take rockbox off but when I power on it still shows the text for rock box and then goes black and shuts down. The only way I can get it to work is to hold down the left button and power on or I can install rockbox again.

I have installed and uninstalled probably 5 times trying to get it work but no such luck. How do I go back to the factory settings? There must be a way, oh please say there is and take pity on me and I promise to never return to the land of things over my head.

Thanks!
Wendy

If you uninstall the bootloader then the Sansa firmware should start automatically.  You don't mention what happens when you hold down the left button while booting.  Are you following the instructions in the manual?

When I hold the left button and turn the unit on it takes awhile but it would go to the original sansa software.

After working on this last night I was able to get the sansa software to start up at turn on but htere is a long delay to get it started. Maybe if I take the software off hte hard drive it will be faster. Hope so. I just couldnt get the rockbox to be user friendly for my basic skills.

Thanks, any other info please let me know.
