Gregg:
I'm having trouble downloading and installing the firmware for my iriver H 120. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.

Chronon:
You need to provide more details.  What is the problem, exactly?

brismass:
i had to use darwine to patch the firmware, a while back i posted a step-by-step on misticriver:

Gregg:
Thanks for this. First off, do I need to uninstall my previous Rockbox firmware? It was installed last year by a friend on Windows, but now it won't record properly which is why I think I need to reinstall.

bluebrother:
You don't need to uninstall an old Rockbox installation. Depending on the age of your bootloader (it should be at least version 6) you might also need to update it. But the guide linked is outdated -- we now have Rockbox Utility which can do the firmware patching for you. Rockbox Utility also runs on OS X and there are binaries available.
As for the build itself, while you can have Rockbox Utility do that for you, you can also just use it for patching the firmware file and do the installation itself by hand.

But you haven't explained what problems you have installing Rockbox, so it's hard to give you a good answer. Why not do that?
