all region for the fm radio

saratoga:
Are there any rockbox targets which can tune ATC bands?  Seems like a very odd feature to put into an FM radio.

oayz:
Guys,

I just checked my FM preset files (.rockbox\fmpresets\preset01.fmr) and see lines like these:

88500000:kisu

I guess first number is FM frequency in Hz. Does it mean I can manually put any number there and solve "multiregion" problem?

LurkAzusa:
I was able to pick up ATIS and ATC on H320.

TexasRockbox:
I don't think having wideband reception is odd at all.  As pointed out earlier:

1) Certain eastern Europe/former USSR utilize 50-60MHz
2) China utilizes the lower 70MHz bands for college stations
3) USA utilizes the lower 70MHz band for listening assistance devices
4) Japan utilizes 76-90MHz
5) USA (and much of the world) utilizes 88-108MHz
6) Much of the world utilizes 116-134MHz for aircraft
7) Amateur Radio utilizes 144Mhz (or thereabouts)
8) USA uses 164MHz for weather.

The hardware and FM coils may pose a limitation but is there really a programming limitation?
I would expect the sensitivity (because of the hardware) will sharply fall off below 70MHz and above 120Mhz but if one is close enough there may still be usuable frequencies.  Something to ponder.

65-75 and 88-108 simultaneously.
And frequencies about 80 MHz sometimes used by taxi and some another services :)
P.S. Some old wireless phones using 40-44 Mhz.
