Every DAP firmware that I know of supports video in only a limited set of codecs and resolutions.  It's true that Rockbox's main focus is audio.  But your suggestion that you don't have to convert videos for other firmwares (including Apple's) is just not true.  What do you think iTunes does before you are able to synch a video to your iPod?

Oh sorry. I didn't mean that you didn't have to convert videos for other firmwares, just now I want to watch the videos that I currently already have on the iPod.
My option right now is to boot into the original Apple firmware for videos, and then boot into RockBox for my audio needs. I was hoping that RockBox was able to open the videos in the same way as it opens the database for the music.

Anyway, RockBox is a pretty good development. Keep up with the good work.

Not to be overly pedantic, but Rockbox does not read the Apple database for music.
The music files are on the drive for anyone to look at.
Rockbox simply looks at the files and (if you choose) makes its own database.

Oh right. That does make sense I guess. That would sort of make the video files open for RockBox to open, but if only they were in the right format.
Oh well, Apple firmware for video and Rockbox for everything else seems to be working well.
