ipod 4thG gray not recharging over USB
(1/1)

I hope this is not too inappropriate to post here, but....
Roughly since I upgraded my Rockbox around June 9, my iPod 4thGen grayscale is not recharging its battery when plugged into USB. It makes all the outwards signs of recharging, but it doesn't actually charge the battery. I can only recharge it with the Firewire-based plug adaptor.
Has anyone else seen this? Could this possibly be related to Rockbox?
Thanks,
Dave

Does it charge properly in the original firmware over USB? If not then I think this may be a hardware failure/problem. If it charges properly in the OF then it would be interesting to know if older Rockbox builds allow you to charge properly with USB.

Good point.... I'll try that.

Just some closure here.... I'm getting my ipod to recharge again. If I have it plugged directly into the computer, it'll top up, but if I have it plugged into a hub coming off my keyboard, it'll only maintain battery level (at least it won't spend any, or much).
In the process of experimenting with this, I did factory restore on the thing (through ITunes) twice. I don't know, however, whether this really had any effect. I guess it did, since before, when plugged into the hub off the keyboard, the battery would actually be used up while running the 'pod. Still, I'm left a little unclear on exactly what happened to fix this...
Hope this helps someone else.
Dave
