Ipod with Rockboy Control question

Hi I'm relatively new to rockbox, but I was wondering I currenty have a zelda game on my ipod and it plays fine except for sound. But I need to use my shield and walk at the same time. So my question is how do I do two controls at the same time? It doesn't seem to work seeing as the scroll wheel is touch sensitive. If anybody could set me straight or give me a link to a post that would be beneficial. If this question has been asked before I apologize for clogging the forum with this post.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't believe there's an effective way to do this. The iPod is, frankly, not designed as a gaming device.

Pressing (as opposed to simply "tapping") the directional up/down/left/right buttons actually sends the particular direction press AND "A" button. If you equip the shield to "A" button, you can use it like this.  As far as I know, this is the only way to accomplish this.
