Ideas for a (maybe) toasted e250

I've been running Rockbox on my e250 for a long time and it's been working great.  However, today it quit right in the middle of a song.   :(
The screen is black; I can't get it to power up; plugging it in doesn't wake it up either.   It's as if it is 100% completely and forever dead.

Any ideas on getting it to "wake up"?  Or should I just pull the SD card and start over with another unit?

It's probably turned on with the backlight off. Try holding the power button for a long time (30 seconds or more) to turn it off, and then turn it on again
