Micro 8 Gig HCSD Not seen when connected
« on: June 26, 2008, 11:09:30 AM »
I've read that people are having no problems reading the card when IN the e280. I can't. I can add songs to it via reader, then insert it and it's fine.

Did I miss something (most likely)?

It's not clear what the issue is.  You're having problems playing the songs on the card?

Sorry - didn't make much sense did it...

I'm wondering if the ability to read/write the card while IN the Sansa is available? So I do not have to take the card out and fill it and then re-insert.

The Sansa's original firmware can't read microSDHC cards, but Rockbox can.

You can use a card reader and SD adapter to copy music to the device, as Rockbox doesn't have a complete USB stack yet.

You should be able to read from the card.  Writing to the card can only be done by copying music from the main memory over to it.

OK, so can be read, not written to even with Rockbox.

Got it.

Many thanks, I read the other post as being able to WRITE to it while in the unit.

Rockbox can write to it just fine (copying files on and off it from the internal memory, etc). You can't write to it from a computer while in Rockbox though, because the USB stack is not yet finished entirely.
