Wired APPLE remote control

Hello I've got a question:
I have apple ipod 60GB (gen 5 video) and wired remote control. Ipod and remote works well in apple native software, but under rockbox it don't works. It is possible to integrate module in rockbox kernel for remotes? Or may be other way (I have old and new versions of remotes, works with apple software only new, and I can change chip in old one to attiny 12 with alternative firmware)
I've read older themes about remotes, may be it is other module for remote (for iriver for example) that works and it is possible to programm microcontroller to use that proto

How about leaving a detailed post in that thread describing the remote, what functions it has, and if it works with accessory power off or only with accessory power on?
