Trouble playing 24 bit Apple Lossless files via Rockbox
happykev:
my previous build was from a couple of months ago.
I'm just gonna give up on trying to play 24 bit files on the ihp-120
Another problem I've been noticing is that on some songs, the player "chokes" on them and advances to the next song in shuffle mode.
A bigger discovery is that the player only plays ALAC files that have been encoded using iTunes. If you try to dump files onto it that have been encoded using dbPowerAmp, they won't play.
Hopefully I have uncovered a big can of worms!

Lear:
The dbPowerAmp encoder puts the metadata at the end of the file. Rockbox currently requires it to be at the front (such files are sometimes called streamable). Foobar2000 can fix this, as can some other programs with a function called something like "optimize MP4 layout".
happykev:
thanks for clarifying this.
I won't be using dbPowerAmp again anytime soon!
I'm assuming Tversity needs the data at the front of the file as well.
