Turning an F10 into an F60

(1/1)

Phalangees:
I've got an F10 that I have already modified into a F20. I was hoping to make it even larger because I've filled up the 20gb hard drive. I have a few questions to ask and I hope you can help me out. I realize that because the F10 has a smaller back then the F40's and F60's so the hard drive would have to be 5mm thick instead of 8mm. The only 60gb 1.8" 5mm hard drive I found was the MK6028GAL on http://www.cesell.com/product.php?productid=155863. I'm a little confused on the interface connection. I'm pretty sure that it uses a ZIF connector on the MK6028GAL so I figured that I would need an adapter which I found on http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10887. If I were to buy the hard drive and converter, would it work if I was able to get it all into an F10?

MarcGuay:
The HardDriveReplacement page in the wiki has a lot of info on this, including links to some examples of people who have used ZIF to ATA adapters in their Gigabeat Fs.

Edit:  Sorry, gave you a false lead there.  This page has the link to the ZIF to ATA adapter page:
