Where Can I Find this Exact AC DC Adaptor for my Mp3 player?
« on: June 21, 2008, 09:17:25 AM »
my AC DC adaptor after all this time, it has been working.
Recently it has been giving me problems, i have to hold down on the AC DC adaptor for it to charge [usually gives a green light on the iriver H120], but when i take my hands off of it, it stops charging completely. The Model of the AC DC Adaptor that i have is "SW10-S050-10", i want to know where i can find a replacement for this AC DC adaptor model.
Can i find it at any local electronics store?

Search the internet.  Here's an example:

A Google search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q="SW10-S050-10") indicates you need a 5 volt 2 amp adapter, which shouldn't be too hard to find.

You will also need to know which way the cord is wired in terms of polarity (is positive on the centre pin, or on the sleeve?) and this information may be marked on the adapter you already have. Connecting an adapter which is wired the opposite way is likely to damage your player, so be careful. Also don't connect an adapter with a higher voltage rating, as this is likely to cause damage.

Please don't ask the same question multiple times.

As I said in answer to your previous exact same question:

Quote
As for the adaptor, the H100 is *very* sensitive to the correct voltage/polarity being used - if you use another one you will very likely fry your player.  Many people have done this by using a Nokia charger by mistake for example.  I would suggest trying to find an original, or at least one designed for it, or be *very* careful to check the specs before you use a different one.

The voltage and polarity are *vital* - the H100 is very easy to fry, it has next to no protection.  The current is less important, as with an adapted cable I can charge from USB that has a maximum of 500 mA, it is just slower.

Multiple Times are you serious? i made this post just today because i been experiencing this problem just as of today the other stuff, i was talking about before is over and done with
and about the H100, the charger was working, for a while until today, it was working yesterday, a little bit more then today, the green light won't even appear to show it is charging, i think i may need to find a replacement AC DC adaptor, the top part of the ac dc adaptor is kind of loose, i think that may also be a problem

Yes, I am serious.  You also asked about where to get a replacement H100 charger here:  http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17219.msg127782#msg127782

I will also reiterate what I asked in the same other thread - please use some punctuation.  Your posts are very hard to read, and you will likely get more responses if you make it easier for people.

I've already answered this twice, once in the first thread and once already in this one.

Do *not*, whatever you do, use a Nokia charger.

Well, from the way he reads the information around here one could get the impression he *wants* to fry his player ...

well luckily i saw what you guys, was talking about, i had it charging for a few minutes on there, it seemed like it worked nothing really is messed up, accept when i plug it to the comp, it gave me this error message while it was on the comp, that i had to take the harddrive out and start over again, and i did just that and it still didnt go through the drive
It actually did work with the charging though, but im glad i took it out ahead of time, or else i would of
dealt with much worse side effects from plugging it in

Why even ask if you're not going to wait for answers before doing stupid things?

Yeah i should of thought about it, but again i didnt have it plugged in on it, that long, by Frying a Mp3  Player what does it mean by that, could it mean that there is no more USB detection?
because all the files that i have previously transferred on it, are still working on the mp3 player, is there a way i can detect the mp3 player again, and the reason i did this is because, i thought just because it fits inside the mp3 player that it would insantly work with the mp3 player and at least give it a charge

Seriously, learn what a period is used for. We don't feel asking for an attempt to use proper English is too much to expect of someone.

If you've used an improper charger and caused hardware damage, you will need to replace parts of the MP3 player before it will work again.

well the problem with that is, the whole mp3 player is all broken apart. The Mp3 player has dropped several times before, then i replaced my drive on this mp3 player im using now.
The mp3 still turns on and off, and works with the files, the problem is the USB detection how do i fix that problem altogether.

It's not "USB detection" that is the problem. Your PC isn't detecting it because the hardware is damaged. You'll need to figure out what all has been damaged, and replace it. This will neither be cheap, nor easy.
