Playlists untagged
« on: June 19, 2008, 02:19:08 PM »
Ok so I've just got my nice skin on my ipod video working. Next question. I have about 3500 mp3s on my ipod. A lot of them do not have ID tags so here's my question. Do I have to tag every single file on my ipod?

If you transferred them by copying and pasting, then just use the file browser.  If you transferred them with itunes (or something else that uses the itunes database), then because it stupidly changes the names and directories, you need to use the Rockbox database to get to them - which needs all the files tagged.

Winamp will still have built the itunes database if you used an iPod synching function, therefore changing all the file names etc.  You need to use the Rockbox tag database, and therefore tag your files.

Well I'm thinking dragging the files to a folder on the ipod is easier and plus it saves me having to sod around with ID tags in winamp anyway. I much prefer it that way coz then i can run them off my PS3. I mean you could normally but the names came up screwed.
